Over the past five years, the Montebello Islands have become my primary product testing grounds. Large, predatory fish, often living in a non-compromising environment soon point out any deficiencies in your jigs and tackle.

During this time I've refined the jig selection that I take onboard my own vessel to fish in the various locations encountered at the Montes, from inside the shallow fringing reefs on the west side to offshore, isolated bombies holding XOS coral trout in 35 metres. Due to shark predation, I generally don't fish any deeper than this.

This collection of Australian made jigs will cover a variety of options for your own sojourn to the Montes. From flicking XXH bucktails for shallow water predators such as spangled emperor, high speed spinning or trolling for pelagics such as spanish mackerel and yellowfin tuna, jigging for XOS coral trout and rankin cod in 35m and everything in between.
